The hardcover is purposely left white so the focus is on the stitching as Coptic Stitch is the first type of stitch that was created for the purpose of bookbinding by the "Coptic" Christians of Egypt.
Coptic Stitch- Transformation project: Tye dyed an old white shirt, cut it and glued it to an illustration board to create a hard cover for my sketchbook and then stitched all of my signatures(groupings of paper) together with the hardcover to create my own A5 sketchbook.
T-shirt was left to dry outside, but froze instead :D
